On a beautiful autumn day, Alicia and Brian said their I-Do’s under the gazebo in Old Town Alexandria Harbour in Alexandria, Va. Surrounded by a handful of their closest friends and family, they chose to wed on Thursday and celebrate on Saturday with all of their people. Instead of making guests schlep from one place to another, fighting for the few parking spots available - they ushered all their guests into the beautifully decorated reception hall. A lovely wedding ceremony video followed by their first dance as a married couple to a video/song that was recorded by a dear friend and accomplished musician was an apt kickoff to what could be called the party of the year!
This wedding was of particular importance to me because Alicia is my sister, and now Brian is my brother! While I shot the actual wedding with my dear friend Rachael Polglaze of Rachael Polglaze Photography from Houston, Tx, I opted to participate in the party at the reception. Rachael and another of my dear friends, Brandon Hunter of Hunter Scott Imagery from nearby Washington, DC, handled reception day photos.
This wasn’t just a wedding, it was a full-blown, four day event full of welcome parties, elaborate dinners, lots of drinks, and culminated in a bar-b-que thanking out-of-town guests and family for coming.
